Recommended Training Tools
We often get asked about the types of training tools we use in our puppy program. Below we have links to our favorite dog training products and tools. We now offer online coaching and Tele-training options for clients. If you would like to learn more about how we use these tools or if you would like specific recommendations for you and your dog, please contact us to set up a tele-training session.
Training Collars & Leashes
Above we have different acceptable styles of slip leads and a head collar. PLEASE NOTE: though we do recommend slip leads for TRAINING they are very specific in how they need to be used. Not every dog or every dog handler needs a slip lead. Using them improperly can cause more behavior issues and create frustration with both handler and dog. If you are unsure of how to use them and would like to learn more, please set up an online coaching session with us.
Raised Dog Beds
We feel a raised dog bed is an indispensable training tool. Each dog bed shown above has varying features so you can find the right one for your needs. Raised dog beds (we refer to them as training beds) can help you achieve training goals with your dog you might not otherwise reach. It creates a safe space for your dog to be and can teach patience and self-control to even very young dogs. If you'd like to learn more about how to use a raised dog bed in training your dog, please drop us a message so we can set up an online coaching session.
Other Dog Training Tools
Here are some of the other training tools we use in our program. These dog training tools are not essential but can make training easier for you and your dog.
Dog Food Puzzles & Toys
Dog food puzzles can help prevent boredom and can also help with dogs who are fast eaters. Our dogs thoroughly enjoy using food puzzles.
